2) Alzheimer’s Response Team:
Partnered with Grossmont Healthcare District and the County of San Diego in 2018
Launched an innovative program called Alzheimer’s Response Team or ART for short.
Trained to work with people with dementia in case of a crisis or emergency.
Help prevent unnecessary trips to the emergency room or jail.
Help prevent people with Alzheimer’s and dementia go through dreadful experiences, like jail.
Making people with dementia more safe and comfortable with people who are trained

1) AB 453: Emergency medical services training
Signed on July 2019
Emergency medical technicians will receive training on how to effectively communicate with a person living with dementia and how to help caregivers when responding to a medical emergency.
Alzheimer’s Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County cosponsored this bill.

2) Master Plan on Aging
Prepare California for the aging population

2) S.2076/H.R.4256: BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act
Signed on 2018
Authorized Public Health Service Act to expand activities related to Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive decline, brain healthy, and healthy aging program.
Alzheimer’s San Diego supported the Building of the Largest Dementia Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s act.
Make more people understand about Alzheimer’s and let people with Alzheimer’s participate in activities.
